Former Central Minnesota Hunting Lodge to Become Recovery Center

May 20, 2022 – A former hunting lodge near Long Prairie is being converted into a drug and alcohol recovery center.

Troy Hoekstra of Sartell is a co-owner of the former Autumn Antlers Trophy Whitetail Deer Hunting Lodge.

He says they bought the building about three years ago and have been running it as a hunting lodge until recently.

They have now teamed up with Ascension Recovery Services. The main lodge will be converted into office space and they will build two new buildings on the property.

Groundbreaking set for the University of Wisconsin Whitewater

August 9, 2018 – Collaboration and creativity are driving the plans for the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater Community Engagement Center and a new hotel on the city’s west side.

The site, located at 1260 W. Main St., is undergoing a major redesign that will include the construction of a privately owned and operated 71-room, Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott hotel on the south side of the property. The existing 52,000-square-foot building to the north, which previously housed the former Sentry grocery store, is being leased to the university and will be transformed into a state-of-the-art UW-Whitewater Community Engagement Center — a hub for faculty, staff, students and community members to engage in community-based learning, projects and research.

Ground is broken on Isanti Hotel

June 7, 2018 –The “best bet” for a hotel in the city of Isanti is finally becoming a reality as the ground has officially been broken for the new 60-room Best Western Plus hotel, which will be located on Main Street, just west of Highway 65.

During the groundbreaking ceremony, held at the site on Tuesday, June 5, the relief of finally getting this project to become a reality was expressed by both Isanti Mayor George Wimmer and hotel owner/developer Troy Hoekstra.
